FAQs

FAQs page is where you will find answers to everything we didn’t cover, and in any case that we missed something please contact Puerto Rico Charters directly.

Q: CAN I SPECIFY THE FOOD & DRINKS TO BE SERVED ABOARD THE YACHT?

A: Each trip comes with complimentary ice, water, and soft drinks as well as snacks like chips and dip or fruit trays. Before you board your yacht, we will ask you any special needs of all the members of your party, such as dietary or medical requirements, details of any allergies, and your sporting or entertainment requests. For extra cost you can add on service of onboard chef or order from the marina restaurant (Alacena) and our crew will retrieve those food orders and have them onboard. This all helps the crew of your chosen yacht to ensure that everything possible is done to make your charter a wonderful experience.

Q: CAN I BRING A PET ONBOARD?

A: This is done on a case-by-case basis so please provide us with details of the pet(s) so we can assess and ensure the animals comfort in the spaces where permitted.

Q: AM I PERMITTED TO USE THE YACHT’S WATERSPORTS TOYS AND SCUBA EQUIPMENT?

A: The yachts come with certain toys onboard and included in your trip as listed in the details for the particular boat you reserve. Only premium water toys like Jet Skis and SeaBob premium water scooters are an additional charge on request and only if available.

Q: CAN I SMOKE ON BOARD VESSLE?

A: Smoking is NOT permitted inside of the yachts. The crew will generally allow responsible smoking on the designated outside areas of the yacht. For safety reasons, smoking in cabins and staterooms is prohibited on all yachts.

Q: HOW MUCH SHOULD I TIP CREW?

A: Crew gratuities are discretionary, although it is customary for a charterer who has enjoyed the kind and attentive service of an obliging crew to extend a gratuity. Crew gratuities are normally in the region of 10%-15% of the charter fee, but can be adjusted up or down according to your level of satisfaction. The best way to ensure that all crew members receive equal recognition is to entrust the distribution of gratuities to the captain as they are entrusted with proper distribution.

Q: WHAT IS THE MINIMUM TIME LENGTH OF CHARTER AND HOW ARE THE RATES CALCULATED?

A: The minimum time length is a 4-hour charter considered a half day. Additional hours can be purchased as needed to accommodate your specific time needs. An 8-hour charter is considered a full day charter and again additional hours above this timeframe can be added to accommodate your needs.
